following is a list of criteria that should be used when selecting
sorbents
as part of your Spill Response Program. No sorbent will likely meet all
of these criteria, as there are always tradeoffs in selecting sorbents
for particular applications. However, where a sorbent claims to meet
certain
criteria, always ask for independent, third party test data. This
should
be readily available from the sorbent supplier. Only this way can you
truly
compare products on the market.
Products
that do not
have all of the features included on this list are not necessarily
inadequate
or defective. However, compliance with these guidelines will help
ensure
that you are using the best product available:
